Synthetic Large Current Short Circuit Test System

Uses

1. Conduct routine and type tests on the short-circuit withstand capacity of transformers.

2.  Conduct short-circuit current closing and breaking tests for circuit breakers (feeder-end faults, nearby-zone faults), as well as out-of-step fault and capacitive current closing and breaking tests.

2. Direct Test

Short-circuit switching test for medium-voltage switchgear: voltage 12–40.5 kV, current 16–160 kA

Short-circuit opening and closing test of high-voltage circuit breaker: voltage 72.5–126 kV, current 3.15–10 kA

Load switching test: voltage 40.5–363 kV, current 400 A

3. Transformer Sudden Short-Circuit Test

Single-phase test methods: 180 MVA/110 kV, 180 MVA/220 kV, 150 MVA/330 kV

4. Dynamic Thermal Stability Test

Short-circuit current and duration: 63–160 kA, 4 s
